Lately I’ve been spending some quality time

Slow walks

And quiet dinners with a soothing light jazz

Time to go on and on about lovers from the past

Promises to the future

And trying to find joy in the right now

I never knew how much enjoyment I got out of being alone

I never knew how much of my time I devoted to be at everyone’s beck and call

Devoted to their pain

Their joys

That I forgot what spending time with me felt like

I may be the best company I’ve ever had

No awkward stares

Shyness giggles

Or forced conversation

Just a light mood of going with the flow and allowing my imagination to take control

Allowing my pen and notebook to bond once again

This is my peace

My hearts fluttering
